THE GOLDEN PATH TUTORING PROGRAM

The Golden Path Tutoring Program is a fun and rewarding way for members to make a difference in the life of a child and meet other Golden Key Members at McGill, Golden Path is currently the largest community outreach program at McGill’s Golden Key Chapter, making it an excellent opportunity for GK members to feel more connected to the Society and to get the most out of their membership.  Golden Path volunteers help the students with their schoolwork and work with them on the academic areas in which they are struggling. Each volunteer is matched with one student with whom they work throughout the year. Communication is enhanced with a special journal that the student’s parents and teachers can write in to suggest specific areas that the tutor should work on with their student. Golden Path, however, is about more than just tutoring: once each semester, the students and their tutors can go on an exciting field trip together to celebrate their progress and achievements! Past trips have included visits to the Biodome and the Redpath Museum at McGill.  The Golden Path Tutoring Program continues to thrive on every year.

Time commitment: 2 hours a week at the Bancroft elementary School.
